I’ve never really considered what a “classy” TV show is, but let’s see…I guess shows that require the viewer having some intelligence? So if we’re talking TV series (even considering those that have concluded), I’d say shows like The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, old sitcoms like I Love Lucy, Full House, Boy Meets World. I’m sure I could think of more but it’s sort of hard to think of criteria for what constitutes a “classy” TV show. I suppose you could also consider program, such as The News Hour on PBS, which I believe shows the only civilized debates that are on TV these days. Then obviously cooking shows are classy, well…maybe not Paula Deen because teaching people how to go into cardiac arrest from eating too much butter isn’t exactly classy. And shows like Jersey Shore or anything else MTV has ever produced are definitely NOT classy.
